Carrie Donnell, MSN, CPNP
Carrie Donnell is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) with the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. She earned her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University (2005) and her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (2010). Prior to nursing school, she served as a health legislative aide to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, M.D. in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Donnell previously worked as a registered nurse in the newborn nursery at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN. She has been a nurse practitioner at Monroe Carell Jr. Hospital at Vanderbilt since 2011 caring for patients who have experienced childhood trauma. She has taught a variety of learners on the topic of childhood trauma and has been an expert witness in both criminal and juvenile courts in Tennessee and Kentucky. In 2020, she joined the PM&R department. In this role, she primarily serves on the pediatric PM&R consult service where she medically evaluates children with rehabilitation concerns and needs.
Ms. Donnell enjoys time spent outdoors or traveling with her husband and three children.
