Stephen Schaaf, MD
Stephen Schaaf, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he practices musculoskeletal medicine that includes sports and spine patients, with a clinical focus on musculoskeletal ultrasound. Dr. Schaaf completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Schaaf’s area of research interests includes tendinopathies, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and genetic biomarkers in the management of musculoskeletal conditions. He is passionate about academic education and mentorship. He is involved in both the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM).
