Pediatric Radiology Fellowship

Pediatric Radiology Fellowship

An ACR-awarded Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE), the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and the Pediatric Radiology section offers a one-year fellowship experience, with an optional second year. With our two accredited ACGME positions, we offer participation in all modalities including radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, MR and nuclear medicine. Pediatric subspecialties include musculoskeletal imaging, neuroradiology and interventional radiology. Services include fetal MR.

We have the opportunity for additional subspecialty training in nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, neuroradiology and musculoskeletal imaging, and have faculty with additional accreditation and training in these areas. The specific interests and needs of the fellow can be accommodated during this one year experience, or further pursued during a second year, if the candidate so chooses.

Upon graduation, our fellows are fully prepared to take on any pediatric radiology practice, whether in an academic or in private practice setting, having gained a vast experience in pediatric radiology. Our fellows are candidates for the Certificate of Added Qualification in pediatric radiology and are candidates for full membership in the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR).

  • Thank you for your interest in the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Pediatric Radiology Fellowship.

  • Our fellows participate in scholarly projects. We have faculty with a wide variety of interests, and can aid in the completion of at least one project within the one year time frame. The Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science, which is part of the Radiology Department, provides additional unique opportunities for research and development and to pursue interests in advanced imaging.

We aim to have at least one scholarly project submitted to a national meeting, such as the meeting of the Society of Pediatric Radiology (SPR), which also allows for attendance at the meeting. Protected academic time is available.
