Women's Imaging (CWI)

Center for Women's Imaging

The Vanderbilt Center for Women's Imaging (CWI) is a facility dedicated to ultrasound that primarily serves obstetric and gynecologic patients. Annually, CWI performs more than 33,000 exams that are viewed in real time by radiologists who provide immediate reports at the time of the patient’s exam.

First trimester sonograms, nuchal translucency measurements as a component of both an ultrascreen and instant risk assessment (IRA), fetal anatomy scans, fetal growth and BPP’s are offered for pregnant patients. Pelvic sonograms include 3D reconstruction in all patients, and expertise in the evaluation of patients with a family history of ovarian cancer or BRCA mutation is also provided.

Vanderbilt locations at Crystal Terrace and One Hundred Oaks are staffed by radiologists who are available to consult with patients and referring physicians at all times. Vanderbilt sonographers staff four satellite locations that serve patients of private obstetricians and gynecologists.

Radiology residents, medical students, sonographers and sonography students also participate in on-site education and training at CWI.
