The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is proud to announce that Breiona Hamilton, MD, MHS, (PGY2, Diagnostic Radiology), has received the Radiology Resident of the Year award.
"I am extremely honored," Dr. Hamilton says. "Most importantly, I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with and learn alongside such amazing people. I strive daily to be a productive member in this collaborative environment while practicing compassion, empathy, and respect with not only our patients but with my teammates as well."
While the recipient of the accolade is selected by leadership, nominations are submitted by nurses, technologists, sonographers, and staff. Each nomination includes why the proposed awardee is qualified for the title. Dr. Hamilton, who was nominated by a Fluoroscopy Technologist, was described as a strong communicator who goes above and beyond for her patients.
"We are all very proud of Dr. Hamilton," says Erin Cooke, MD, Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program Director. "It is impressive that she has accomplished this type of recognition as only a first-year radiology resident. It speaks volumes of her attention to patient care and her level of professionalism. She is already a role model as a junior resident and we are so glad she is a part of our department."
