Department of Radiology Announces Match 2019 Results

The Department of Radiology’s Diagnostic (DR) and Integrated Interventional Radiology (IR) Residency programs are excited to announce match results for the 2019 National Resident Match Program (NRMP) Match.

Both DR and IR programs filled, matching a total of nine residents – six for DR and three for IR – who will join the department in July 2020 following completion of their internship year.

The incoming DR resident class is comprised of residents from six states and medical schools. In addition, four of the six residents are female, which is the largest representation of women in any Vanderbilt Radiology residency class to date.

“This class brings unique talents and perspectives to our program,” said Cari Motuzas, M.D., Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology and DR Residency Program Director. “We look forward to welcoming this exceptional group of trainees to our radiology family, and would like to thank the faculty and residents who dedicated time to recruiting them.”

Ryan Muller, M.D., Assistant Professor of Radiology and IR Residency and Fellowship Program Director, says this was an extremely competitive match year for the integrated IR Residency Program as it approaches its full complement.

“We successfully recruited a talented class who will add new energy to our growing program,” said Muller. “Recruitment is a team sport, and we are very thankful for the extensive effort put forth by the current residents, faculty and our larger IR family!”
