Geming Li Joins VUMC Radiology as Associate Professor

VUMC Radiology is proud to welcome Geming Li, MD, MS, to our department as he joins the Nuclear Medicine section as an Associate Professor! 

Dr. Li comes to Nashville from Shreveport, Louisiana, where he served as the Director of the PET/CT Imaging Center for the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center and Assistant Professor with the Department of Radiology at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. 

A graduate of Norman Bethune University of Medical Science (now Jilin University) in Changchun, China, Dr. Li completed a residency in otolaryngology and fellowship in neuro-otology, then went on to join the Beijing Tong Ren Hospital and Beijing Institute of Otolaryngology as an Assistant Professor. 

He then came to Nashville, serving as a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Department of Otolaryngology at VUMC before going on to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York where he was a Research Associate and Instructor with the Department of Otolaryngology. 

Dr. Li then went back to training, completing a residency and fellowship in nuclear medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Following his training, he joined the PET Imaging Center at the Biomedical Research Foundation of Northwest Louisiana in Shreveport as a Nuclear Medicine Physician and eventually joined the VA, where he worked for over 13 years. 

We are excited for Dr. Li to join our team, bringing his numerous years of experience in otolaryngology and nuclear medicine to VUMC. Welcome, Dr. Li!
