Following several successful and energized presentations at RSNA 2022, Reed Omary, MD, MS, Carol D. and Henry P. Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, has been recognized beyond the stage. Key leaders in the world of radiology have shared Dr. Omary’s vision to improve patient care through climate action, bolster allyship and prioritize efforts in diversity and inclusion.
Dr. Omary’s presence at RSNA 2022 was highlighted in multiple industry publications this week, including the RSNA Daily Bulletin. The story features his thoughts on why physician advocacy and new initiatives from health care leaders are integral components for a sustainable future in medicine.
“We must use every bit of influence we have to foster change by embedding these practices in our daily lives,” Dr. Omary said to an engaged audience at RSNA, highlighted by The Bulletin.

Imaging Technology News featured his Plenary Session, “Designing Radiology for Patients, Communities, and the Planet,” reviewing and summarizing his goals for Radiology 2030. Innovative Healthcare's Health Imaging pronounced sustainability—including Dr. Omary's message—as a prevalent theme of the conference.
VUMC Radiology’s impact went beyond newsletters and feature stories. According to data shared by Emory Radiology, RSNA 2022 saw over 110 million impressions on Twitter alone (as of Nov 30), with Dr. Omary being one of the top 10 most influential accounts.
