The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is proud to welcome Shanna Matalon, MD, who joins our Abdominal Imaging section as an Associate Professor.
A graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where she received a bachelors in neuroscience, Dr. Matalon attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine. After graduating, she went on to complete a radiology residency and fellowship in abdominal imaging and intervention at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Following her training, Dr. Matalon joined the faculty at Harvard Medical School as an Instructor with the Department of Radiology in 2018. During her time at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dr. Matalon served as the Associate Program Director and Chair of Resident Recruitment for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency and as the Associate Program Director for the Interventional Radiology Residency. She was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2021.
Dr. Matalon has won several honors and awards in her time as a trainee and attending, and has served as a mentor for numerous medical students, residents, fellows and junior faculty. We are thrilled that she has joined us here at Vanderbilt.
