Shelby Frantz, MD, has authored a piece for the August 2022 edition of the American Board of Radiology newsletter, "The Beam," titled, "There’s Value in Attending Annual Conferences." In the essay—included in the "Focus on IR/DR" section—Dr. Frantz explains that her passion for conferences began during medical school and how the ritual has become an integral part of her experience in the world of radiology.
"As a resident, I find it even more rewarding to attend annual meetings because the educational content is highly relevant," Dr. Frantz writes. "Presentations cover the gamut of IR including the latest research, treatment indications, protocols, and outcomes. However, not all sessions focus strictly on science and technique; many are dedicated to diversity, work-life balance, practice management, and other practical skills."
