Caitlin “Cat” Moon, M.A., J.D., Lecturer in Law, Vanderbilt University, has been appointed secondary faculty in the Department of Radiology. She currently serves as Director of Innovation Design at the PoLI Institute, Vanderbilt University’s Program on Law and Innovation.
“We are thrilled that Cat now has a secondary appointment in Radiology,” said Reed Omary, M.D., M.S., Carol D. and Henry P. Pendergrass Professor and Chair, Department of Radiology. “She has been a tremendous advocate for innovation in law. As we aim to innovate in health care, we are natural partners who can collaborate across disciplines.”
Moon’s area of teaching include human-centered design thinking for law, business law and smart contracts. In addition to her role at Vanderbilt, Moon also co-founded the Summit on Law and Innovation, which promotes innovation and collaboration between experts in the fields of law, technology and education. She is an active speaker on innovation in law and education, and provides consulting to law firms and law schools around the world on the use of design thinking to improve the field of law and legal education.
“With cross-disciplinary radical collaboration, we go faster and farther to innovate the systems that form the foundation of our society: the law and health care,” said Moon. “I am beyond honored and excited to be on Radiology’s team of innovative movers and doers!”
Moon received her law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and her Master of Arts in Business and Corporate Communications from Western Kentucky University. She joins a cohort of nearly 30 faculty from departments across Vanderbilt University and the Medical Center with secondary appointments in the Department of Radiology.
