Awards for the Annual Association of University Radiologists Meeting have been announced, and two VUMC Radiology members have been highlighted for their work.
Vanderbilt Women in Radiology received the 2023 AUR R&E Foundation Strategic Alignment Grant for their proposed mentorship program “EMPOWiR: An Executive Mentorship Program for Women in Radiology.” The program was chosen for the one-year grant to help advance this long-range strategic goal of mentoring women in the field of radiology. Director of Women in Radiology Courtney Tomblinson, MD, is the lead investigator on this project, with Elizabeth England, MD, Elizabeth Snyder, MD, Lucy Spalluto, MD, MPH and Charlene Dewey, MD MEd MACP serving as co-investigators.
Third year DR resident Jennifer Lindsey, MD, received the AUR Memorial Award for her article “Modeling the Environmental and Financial Impact of Multi-Dose vs. Single-Dose Iodinated Contrast Media Packaging and Delivery Methods.” VUMC Radiology faculty were listed as co-authors on the paper, including Kate Frederick-Dyer, MD, Jeff Carr, MD, Erin Cooke, MD, Laveil Allen, MD, and Reed Omary, MD, MS. Dr. Lindsey will receive an honorarium along with an award and will be asked to present her work at the meeting.
In addition to these awards, several VUMC Radiology faculty and residents will attend various leadership programs at the annual meeting. Musculoskeletal Imaging Section Chief Jenny Weaver, MD, will participate in the radiology management program while second year IR resident Kyle Maughan, MD, will take part in the resident academic leadership development program.
