Congratulations to MSK Fellow and incoming faculty member Katie Van Schaik, MD, PhD, MA, who was recently awarded the Hot Topic Grant from the Society of Skeletal Radiology!
Dr. Van Schaik's proposal, "Identifying Epigenetic Factors Associated with Early Osteoporosis that Result in Imaging Findings Detected by Deep Learning Techniques” was announced as the winning grant at the SSR 2024 annual meeting. The committee commented that Dr. Van Schaik's project was chosen because of its potential to have a broad impact on patient care.
Next year, she will travel to Santa Fe, New Mexico, to present her project at the 2025 SSR annual meeting.
