Lori Strachowski, MD is a Clinical Professor of Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco in the department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and holds and adjunct position in the department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Strachowski’s primary interests are in the fields of gynecologic and obstetrical ultrasound and served as Director of Ultrasound at San Francisco General US for over 18 years. She also specializes in breast imaging and co-founded the Avon Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center at SFGH where she served as Medical Director and Women’s Imaging Fellowship Director for 10 years. Dr. Strachowski greatly enjoys patient care and teaching and has lectured at numerous meetings and conferences at the local, regional and national levels. She has received numerous teaching and clinical excellence awards (including the Excellence in Teaching Award, by the Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators, Ana Lev-Toaff award by the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound, Hideyo Minagi Teacher of the Year Award by the UCSF radiology residents and was a 3-time recipient of the Clinical Consultant of the Year by the residents in Obstetrics and Gynecology.) Dr. Strachowski has served on numerous societal committees and in June 2023, became co-chair of ACR O-RADS. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading, cooking and spending time with her 2 grown children.
