According to the CPR Policies of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, acceptable agencies for resuscitation training are listed below. Only training with hands-on CPR skills evaluation is accepted.
Acceptable Resuscitation Training Agencies:
- American Heart Association
- American Red Cross
- Military Training Network
The statement "taught according to AHA guidelines" or some variation of the statement does not make the card acceptable. Certification cards NOT accepted include: National CPR Foundation, American Safety & Health Institute, ProTrainings, American Academy of CPR and First Aid, American AED CPR Association, ProCPR, International CPR Institute, National Safety Council, EMS Safety Services, or any other agencies than the acceptable ones listed above.
Examples of certification cards that are acceptable under the VUMC CPR Policy can be found below:
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- Heartsaver CPR AED or Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- PEARS - Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, & Stabilization
- FARR - Fundamentals of Assessment, Recognition, and Rescue
- EOR - Essentials of Resuscitation
