Course Description
- The ACLS course teaches the importance of preventing cardiac arrest, high-performance teams, early and continuous high-quality CPR, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, post-cardiac arrest care, acute dysrhythmias, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).
Audience
- ACLS is geared towards emergency, intensive, and critical care healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies.

Course Description
- FARR is a VUMC-specific course designed for non-critical care and non-code team staff.
- The FARR course objectives are to:
- Recognize the deterioration of a patient requiring escalating care
- Understand the emergency response activation process
- Develop communication and teamwork techniques for high stress situations
- Identify and perform tasks appropriate to scope of practice, skills, and location while waiting for advanced providers
- Review basic skills during mock code scenarios
- The FARR course replaces the EOR--Essentials of Resuscitation course.
Audience
- Non-critical care and non-code team healthcare providers working with adult patients
