General aims

The purpose of this study will be to examine historical clinical decision-making, treatment options, short and long-term management of, and outcomes (clinical, economic, patient-centered, etc.) related to the diagnosis of a craniofacial disorder or condition resulting in plastic surgery.

Specific Aim 1: To understand historical clinical care related to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions requiring plastic surgery intervention at our institution.

Specific Aim 2: Conduct comparative-effectiveness studies to evaluate clinical decision-making changes over time and the impact of those changes on outcomes (clinical, economic, patient-centered, etc.).

Specific Aim 3: Evaluate the outcome implications of treatment and management including, but not limited to, the use of technology, new implants, new procedures, medical vs. surgical intervention, pre-operative risk scoring scales and quality of life/psychosocial components.
