The Student Health Center and the Vanderbilt Medical Center are watching the US Mpox situation very closely and are trained in the recognition and management of this infection. This infection is transmitted by respiratory secretions and by close physical contact with an infected person's lesions. The majority of cases in the US are in men who have sex with men, but it has also been seen in other patients, including children.
