Katelyn Atwater, MD

Internal Medicine, Incoming Medical Director

Dr. Atwater attended UCLA for her undergraduate degree, majoring in History/Art History.  She attended Columbia University for her Postbaccalaureate Premed Certificate,  and the University of Texas at Houston for her medical degree.  She completed her internal Medicine residency at Vanderbilt University.  She has worked as an Internist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since completing residency and will start at the Student Health Center in November 2024 as Medical Director.

Dr. Atwater's clinical interests are chronic disease management, addressing both mental and physical health, building healthy habits/preventative care, and shared decision-making with patients.

Outside of work, Dr. Atwater is married and has two school aged children.  In her free time, she enjoys being outside, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.
