Manuscripts

SWERV offers an extensive list of services to develop and submit research and review articles to peer-reviewed journals. We strive to ensure the significance of your research is immediately clear to the reader.

Storyboard development and figure organization

Early stage development of a manuscript can be overwhelming and difficult to outline. Our team is experienced in sifting through data to develop a cohesive set of figures. As well-trained scientists, we can help identify key experiments to elevate your manuscript and highlight the strongest aspects of your project. Services range from developing a set of figures from compiled data to re-organizing and finalizing figure content.

Below is an example of storyboard development from compiled data. Collaborators are instructed to provide a powerpoint of compiled data with short descriptions of data in notes. From this, we will develop a storyboard of figures with your journal submission goals in mind. We may also suggest additional experiments or content that would strengthen your manuscript.

Content development

Although we heavily encourage authors to provide a first draft or outline of potential manuscripts, SWERV does offer content development for manuscripts and grants. This includes developing introductions, writing up results, summarizing methods from provided protocols, development of discussion, and writing figure legends. To ensure the significance of your research is preserved, meetings at regular intervals will be required to review and adjust content accordingly.

Formatting and Journal selection

Based on your topic, the nature of your research, and your manuscripts overall significance, we will help select a list of appropriate journals, both general and specialized, to help you select the right choice for your manuscript submission. We will also help format your manuscript and figures to fit submission requirements.
