Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship

We are currently making strategic changes to our Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) fellowship that anticipate the future needs of our trainees, our department, and our patients in the field of Urologic and pelvic reconstruction.  This includes a plan to transition to a 1-year program. The Vanderbilt Urology Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship (FPMRS) provides a multispecialty approach to the evaluation and management of pelvic floor disorders, with training in Reconstructive and Functional Urology and Urogynecology.  Our fellowship is accredited by the American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and recognized by the Society of Urodynamics and Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU).

The VUMC FPMRS fellowship was started in 2003 by Dr. Roger Dmochowski and accredited by ACGME in 2013.  Dr. Dmochowski served as Program Director until 2020, when Dr. W. Stuart Reynolds became the current Director.  The Fellowship has trained over 30 FPMRS fellows (19 urologists and 11 gynecologists).
