Utibe R. Essien, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, a general internist and health disparities researcher in the VA Pittsburgh Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Department of Medicine has announced a $1 million endowment dedicated to the department’s efforts in diversity and inclusion. This announcement was made by Kimryn Rathmell, MD, PhD, Hugh J. Morgan Professor and chair of the Department of Medicine, at the opening of the recent Ownby Lectureship.

Two fellows in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine have received awards from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC).
