André L. Churchwell, Chief Diversity Officer for Vanderbilt University Medical Center and senior associate dean for Diversity Affairs in the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, has been named interim vice chancellor for equity, diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer for Vanderbilt University.

The 19th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Lecture was held on Monday and commenced with the United Voices of Vanderbilt choir’s stirring rendition of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

 

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award will be presented Monday, Jan. 21, to a faculty or staff member in the School of Medicine, School of Nursing or Vanderbilt University Medical Center who truly emulates the principles of King through his or her work.

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Office of Diversity Affairs held the second annual Hidden VUMC Figures event Oct. 29 in Light Hall.
