One hundred and twelve food boxes packed with all the essentials for a complete Thanksgiving dinner were provided to Nashville families this year, the result of a collaboration between Youth Advocate Programs (YAP) and Vanderbilt University Medical Center employees.

The Claude Organ Lecture, sponsored by the Society of Black Academic Surgeons and the Southern Surgical Association, will feature John Tarpley, MD, FWACS, FACS, academic dean of the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons and VUMC professor emeritus of Surgery and Anesthesiology. The lecture is at 7 a.m. on Oct. 8 in 208 Light Hall or via Zoom.
