Syra York, DNP, AGNP-C

Syra York is a Doctorally prepared nurse practitioner specializing in adult-geriatric care. She has been board certified through the AANP and has experience working in occupational health and primary care as an advanced practice provider and clinic manager. Originally from Arizona, Syra has spent her nursing career in hospice, home health, palliative care, and long-term care geriatrics. She has also been a part of higher education as a clinical instructor for Arizona State University’s Accelerated BSN program, teaching the next generation of nurses bedside clinical skills. Syra moved to the Nashville area in 2023 and has a special interest in the adult-health population. In her free time, Syra enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her dogs, and gardening. To her, healthcare is personal, and there is nothing more important than keeping VUMC employees healthy and able to care for their communities.
