Customers who purchased Parallels 7 between July 25 and September 4, 2012 through the Vanderbilt Software Store qualify for a free upgrade to Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac. Kivuto, the company that hosts the Software Store, will send an email with instructions on how to upgrade to eligible customers. Customers have until October 31, 2012 to redeem the upgrade code they receive by email from Kivuto.

E-academy, the company that hosts the Vanderbilt Software Store, will perform maintenance on the underlying platform on Tuesday, August 14th, from 6-7:30 a.m. Central Time. During this time, we will place the Software Store in "maintenance mode" and we will display a message indicating that the Software Store is temporarily unavailable. The Software Store has upgraded Vanderbilt’s SPSS site license from Statistics Standard to Statistics Premium per request by SPSS users. Statistics Premium offers more advanced and comprehensive analytical capabilities. Statistics Standard includes SPSS Statistics Base, SPSS Advanced Statistics and SPSS Regression.

Apple has released OS X Mountain Lion. You can buy Mountain Lion now through the Vanderbilt Software Store under the Departments/More Software tab for $11.49. If you purchase through the Software Store (i.e. through Apple Volume Licensing), you can only install the OS on Vanderbilt owned Macs. Before you upgrade, make sure your Mac can run Mountain Lion and that it is running the latest version of Snow Leopard (10.6.8) or Lion (10.7.x).
