Mathworks announced today that Release 2015b will be the last MATLAB release for the Windows 32-bit platform. The Software Store expects Mathworks to release R2015b during Q3 of this year. See platform road map for more information.

Wolfram Research released Mathematica 10.0.2 on December 10. Mathematica users with active subscriptions can upgrade to the new release for free through the Software Store. JetBrains released PyCharm 4 on November 20, 2014. Vanderbilt faculty and students are eligible to download PyCharm for $0 through the Software Store. Faculty may use PyCharm for academic (non-commercial) research and educating students in classes. Students may install the software on personally owned computers for doing coursework.
