Use SuperToast Professional for IM Alerts

SuperToast Professional is available for $0 through the Vanderbilt Software Store. Microsoft Lync 2010 users can use SuperToast to send alerts for the instant messages (IMs) they miss.  In addition, you can use SuperToast to display a list of all missed conversations and to re-engage in a specific conversation. Oracle Critical Patch Update for October 2013

Oracle released its Critical Patch Update for October 2013 on October 15, 2013.  Starting October 2013, Oracle will release Java SE Critical Patch Update quarterly every year as per the main Oracle Critical Patch Update Schedule. Oracle strongly recommends applying the patches as soon as possible. Software Store Maintenance Scheduled for October 23, 2013

Kivuto, the company that hosts the Software Store, will perform scheduled maintenance on the store's underlying platform Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 6-8 AM. Customers will not be able to access the store during this time.

Adobe Premiere Elements 12, Photoshop Elements 12 Available

Adobe recently released Photoshop Elements 12, Premiere Elements 12, and the Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 12 product suite.  The Software Store offers all three products to departments.  Customers with active maintenance received a free upgrade to version 12 in their Software Store accounts.

HP Academy Program Ending

HP announced it is ending the HP Academy Program on November 12, 2013.  The HP Academy Program provides Vanderbilt students with discounted pricing on hardware and software products.

New Top Level Domains

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) oversees the public domain name system (DNS).  Currently, the system includes 22 generic top-level domains (gTLDs) such as .COM, .ORG, and .NET. ICANN approved a plan more than two years ago to add hundreds of new gTLDs to the DNS.  The new gTLD categories include: Business (19 TLDs) Real Estate (30 TLDs) Industry (21 TLDs) Geographic (85 TLDs) Money & Finance (32 TLDs) Culture
