The new VUMC Internet
Overview
On Tuesday, May 21, 2019, a new Internet connection went into service for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Previously, the Medical Center shared an Internet connection with Vanderbilt University. This activity was part of continuing efforts to establish an independent information technology infrastructure for VUMC.
This project allowed the Medical Center to:
- Establish an independent, organization-appropriate network
- Improve organizational cybersecurity
- Better facilitate IT changes and upgrades
