All VUMC employees are eligible to use Microsoft Office 365 (O365).  Employees can use the software on up to five PCs or Macs, five tablets, and five smartphones at the office and at home for VUMC-related work. If you have not received your Microsoft Office upgrade, please contact the Help Desk at 615-343-HELP (3-4357). After you receive your upgrade, go to https://portal.office.com, log in, and click Install Office apps in the upper right corner of the screen to install Office on your home computer.

Two years ago, VUMC IT deployed a Microsoft KMS server for activating Office, Project, Visio, Windows Client, and Windows Server.  We recently discovered that some Medical Center devices are activating against the university’s KMS server rather than the Medical Center’s KMS server.  If you provide desktop support for one or more Medical Center departments, please check the devices you support to make sure they have auto-discovery enabled.

The VUMC Software Store offers a campus-wide license for MATLAB, Simulink, and companion products. The annual cost for the site license is spread equally across the departments that use the software.  VUMC IT will include the annual charge in its April 2019 billing. The site license includes:

Tableau Prep is a new tool for cleaning and preparing data for analysis.  Software Store customers who have an active Tableau Desktop subscription, or who are current on maintenance, may use Tableau Prep at no extra charge. The latest versions of MATLAB and Simulink and other MathWorks products are available to support coursework and research.   Vanderbilt University Medical Center offers a campus-wide license to MATLAB, Simulink, and companion products. All faculty, researchers, and students are eligible to download and install these products on their Medical Center computers as well as their personally-owned computers.
