Congratulations to Ashish Patel, MD, MBA, MS, RMSK, for graduating with his MBA from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Patel received his diploma on Friday, December 9.
“I was at a point in my career where my ambitions outpaced my abilities,” says Dr. Patel. “I felt pursuing an MBA would help me become a more effective leader and communicator.”
Now, Dr. Patel is already busy applying new leadership skills to his work in medicine, like when he worked to improve ED and radiology operations through an interdepartmental workshop.
“Leading and managing change are at the core tenants of an MBA,” says Dr. Patel. “The changes we helped to bring forth [in the workshop] will improve employee morale, increase patient safety, and increase hospital profit margin.”
Dr. Patel joined the Vanderbilt faculty in 2018 as Assistant Professor. He is a member of the Skeletal Society of Radiology, Radiology Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society and the American College of Radiology.
