Michael Pridmore, PhD, is a Nashville native. He joined VUMC Radiology as an Assistant Professor in 2024 after enjoying a stint at our very own Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science (VUIIS), where he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow focusing on clinical applications of sodium MRI in patients with lymphatic disease. 

Dr. Pridmore received his doctoral degree in Chemical and Physical Biology in the Imaging Science Track in June 2020 at Vanderbilt University. His dissertation is titled, "Multiparametric MRI of Neurodegeneration in the Peripheral Nervous System." 

While pursuing his PhD, Dr. Pridmore had the opportunity to translate existing brain MRI scan protocols to the peripheral nervous system to look at disease pathology such as nerve injury, repair, and neurodegeneration. Dr. Pridmore also holds a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and a master’s degree in Experimental Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University.
