Lori Deitte Graduates from SCARD-GE LEAD Program

Congratulations to Lori Deitte, MD, Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, who has recently graduated from the Leading, Empowering and Disrupting (LEAD) Program, a joint leadership program of the Society of Chairs of Academic Radiology Departments’ (SCARD) and GE Healthcare.

John Scheel Joins as Associate Professor

VUMC Radiology is excited to welcome John Scheel, MD, PhD, MPH, as an Associate Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences in Breast Imaging. Dr. Scheel joins us from Seattle, where he's held a variety of faculty positions in Radiology and Global Health at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Dr. Scheel has also worked with a variety of community-based organizations emphasizing diversity, equity and inclusion within radiology and breast health—both in America and internationally.

Sean G. Hughes Receives Secondary Appointment in Radiology

Sean G. Hughes, MD, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, and Director, Cardiac MRI Laboratory, has received a secondary appointment as an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, effective October 1.

Kristin O'Grady Receives Secondary Appointment in Biomedical Engineering

Kristin O'Grady, PhD, Assistant Professor of Radiology & Radiological Sciences, has received a secondary appointment as an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering in the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering. Dr. O'Grady obtained her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt in 2015 under the mentorship of Craig Duvall, PhD, and Melissa Skala, PhD.

Asha Sarma Selected for AUR/APDR Radiology Career Advancement Lectureship Program

Asha Sarma, MD, Assistant Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, has been selected to participate in the AUR/APDR Radiology Career Advancement Lectureship Program (RCALP). This program gives early and mid-career faculty a chance to build their academic careers by delivering a national level talk under the guidance and mentorship of nationally recognized radiology educators. The program aims to increase the visibility of the selected individual on a national level and to facilitate networking with colleagues at other institutions.
