Vanderbilt has entered into a JMP site license with SAS Institute. JMP software may be used for data analysis and visualization. The site license enables students and faculty to use JMP for teaching, learning, and research. Licenses are subscription based, may be purchased for Windows 32-bit and Macintosh operating systems, and cost $50 per desktop. GeoTrust has completed upgrading its public root certification authorities (CAs) to the 2048-bit "GeoTrust Global Root CA". All SSL certificates are now being signed from an intermediate CA under the GeoTrust Global Root CA, creating a stronger, chained CA hierarchy. Existing valid certificates issued off of old 1024-bit RSA keys will continue to operate correctly and securely with no action required on the part of customers.

Microsoft has announced price increases for Office, Project, SQL Server and Sharepoint Server. The increases are expected to take affect when these products are released during May and June this year. The new pricing will be posted in the ITS Software Store when it becomes available. If you need to avoid paying more for these products in the future, or plan on eventually migrating to the next releases, you might consider buying before May and including software assurance with your purchase. Software assurance includes new version rights and licenses include backward use rights.
