As VUMC continues to support Work at Home efforts for many employees, workforce members are using online collaboration tools more than ever to effectively work from home offices. To further support the Work at Home initiative and improve VUMC’s cybersecurity posture, VUMC Enterprise Cybersecurity (VEC) is expanding the use of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to enhance protection of VUMC systems and data. MFA is considered the industry standard for protecting systems and resources from cyberattacks.

There have been some concerns raised in the past week about the privacy and security of the Zoom teleconferencing tool. Enterprise Cybersecurity announced on Friday that the two new threat tactics using Zoom, known at "Zoom Bombing" and "Zoom Phishing," can be alleviated using built-in Zoom security features. The best way to secure meetings with Zoom is to set up passwords for individual meetings.
