5th Annual Day of Service
We are pleased to invite you to the 5th annual Vanderbilt Orthopaedics Community Service Day! Our service event will be on Saturday, December 16th, 2023 at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee from 1:30-4:00 PM. You are welcome to bring your family provided that everyone meets the volunteer age requirement. We are also hoping to arrange a volunteer lunch prior to the shift; please stay tuned for details on this.
Saturday, December 16th, 2023 at Second Harvest Food Bank (331 Great Circle Road, Nashville, TN 37228).
1:30 PM- 4:00 PM (dry and cold food sorting)
Tasks: Evaluating, sorting and packaging dry and refrigerated/frozen food.
Volunteer age requirements: no volunteers under age 12; volunteers ages 12-18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Space is limited so volunteer spots will be first come, first served. Please respond to kaitlyn.reasoner.1@vumc.org or donald.h.lee@vumc.org at your earliest convenience to indicate interest and how many spots you would like. Perry Initiative Program Event – Ortho DEI is excited for the opportunity to sponsor this one-day career exploration for young women in high school and medical school that allows for a hands-on introduction to the field of Orthopaedic Surgery and engineering.

DEI Sponsored Department Wide Virtual Bias in Healthcare Training
June-July 2022
School Supply Drive – The DEI Committee will be sponsoring a school supply drive to help benefit the Pencil Box and Metro Nashville Public School Teachers. Supplies will be collected during June and July from a curated Amazon list linked above. Please make sure to click on "Diana Arcuri's Gift Registry Address" to ship directly to our MCE front office. Donations or supplies can be dropped off with Diana Arcuri or Lindsay Giglio at the front desk.
