At Vanderbilt’s Division of Adult Reconstruction, we believe in and rely on the principles of reconstructive surgery rather than robotics or navigation technology. Our faculty members provide top notch joint replacement procedures, and train residents and fellows to perform these technically demanding procedures. Together, they work to continuously study and explore ways to improve these surgeries so patients can quickly regain mobility.
Our Research
Our faculty study ways to improve joint replacement procedures and develop new prosthetic devices. Our research areas of focus include:
- Best methods for treating infected hip and knee replacements
- Early rehabilitation after hip replacement
- Examining results of hip replacement following acetabular fractures
- Minimally invasive hip surgery
- New devices for hip resurfacing
- Reduction of complications after hip surgery
