Visio Professional and Visio Standard 2013 (32 and 64-bit) are available through the Vanderbilt Software Store (**http://softwarestore.vanderbilt.edu**) under the “Departments/Microsoft” tab. Microsoft strongly recommends the use of 32-bit (x86) versions of Office 2013, Project 2013, and Visio 2013 applications as the default option for all platforms.

Kivuto, the company that hosts the Vanderbilt Software Store and administers the Microsoft Student Option Program for Vanderbilt, expects to offer Office Professional Plus 2013 for Windows through the Student Option Program by mid-January 2013. Vanderbilt students are eligible to download Office for PC, Office for Windows, and Windows 8 Upgrade through the Student Option Program at no charge through the Vanderbilt Software Store. This is a benefit of Vanderbilt’s Campus Agreement.

Adobe removed the option to buy maintenance for Creative Suite products through its Cumulative Licensing Program (CLP). Since Vanderbilt participates in CLP, this means departments can no longer buy maintenance for CS6 products under the “Departments” tab through the Software Store.

Wolfram Research released Mathematica 9 last week. The new product is available through the Software Store. We placed a no charge download in the accounts of customers with active Mathematica subscriptions. See http://wolfram.com/mathematica/new-in-9/ for information on what is new in Mathematica 9.

PowerISO.com released PowerISO v5.4 on August 27, 2012. We added v5.4 to the Software Store’s catalog. Departments, faculty, staff and students are eligible to download PowerISO at no cost through the Software Store. See http://www.poweriso.com/index.htm for product information.

SAS Institute released an update for SAS 9.3 (i.e. TS1M2 Rev:12w41). The update supports Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. The Software Store placed the update in the accounts of customers with active SAS subscriptions.

Vanderbilt adopted a new policy for registering, renewing and transferring university and medical center domain names on February 1, 2012.

Microsoft released Windows 8 during October 2012. Students pay $0 and employees pay $9.75 for Windows 8 through the Vanderbilt Software Store. These discounts are benefits of Vanderbilt’s Microsoft Campus Agreement.
