FAQ
FAQ Summer Students
Does the program provide housing?
- Vanderbilt University offers on-campus housing options, which we can help arrange. Additionally, past students have opted for off-campus housing. Housing choice is at the discretion of each student. Your stipend can be used to support summer housing.
Is there on campus parking?
- Paid parking is available on campus.
Do I need my own transportation?
- We strongly recommend having a vehicle during the summer. Our medical center has several off-site clinics and surgery centers, which you may be options for shadowing and/or meeting with your mentor.
Can I start the program later/leave earlier?
Students are required to be on campus and attend the program from start (June 2nd) to finish (July 25th) without exception.
If you need to leave for a few days during the program for a special event (family events, weddings, graduations), exceptions to our attendance policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
What will be required in the application?
- As part of your application, you will be required to have
- a completed REDCap application
- a letter of good standing from your school
- two signed letters of recommendation from faculty
