Reagan Leverett, MD, MS, Associate Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences and Medical director of Vanderbilt Breast Imaging Services, has been named chief of the Section of Breast Imaging, a position she previously held on an interim basis.

Todd Peterson, PhD, Associate Professor of Radiology, was inducted this week as a Fellow of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI).

Jeneth Aquino, MSN, APRN, Associate in Radiology and Radiological Sciences, has been named Nurse Practitioner (NP) Team Leader for Interventional Radiology (IR) and Computed Tomography (CT)/Ultrasound (US) Procedural Radiology.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s (VUMC) Department of Radiology has improved its ranking among diagnostic radiology (DR) departments for National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding in fiscal year (FY) 2019.

James A. Patton, PhD, was recently honored with the title of Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, Emeritus, by the Vanderbilt University Board of Trust. Dr. Patton retired in December 2019 following 47 years of service to Vanderbilt and the Department of Radiology. He is among 33 faculty retiring in the 2019-2020 academic year to receive the emeriti title.

Andrea Birch, MD, Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology, and Edwin Donnelly, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Radiology, were recently named Fellows of the American College of Radiology (ACR).  

Lori Deitte, MD, Professor and Vice Chair of Education, Department of Radiology, has been elected as an inaugural Fellow of the Association of University Radiologists (AUR).  

The Department of Radiology this week announced incoming faculty for the Pediatric Radiology section at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Stephen Little, MD, is expected to join the department as an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology, effective Sept. 1, 2020.

Melissa Hilmes, MD, Associate Professor of Radiology, has been elected to Vanderbilt University School of Medicine’s (VUSM) Academy for Excellence in Education, in recognition of her contributions to the educational mission at Vanderbilt.
