Rachel Runde Joins VUMC Radiology as Assistant Professor

The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is pleased to announce that Rachel Runde, MD, has joined our team as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Runde will join our Community Radiology and Body Imaging sections.
Most recently, Dr. Runde served as an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
Brent Savoie Receives Secondary Appointment in Biomedical Informatics

Congratulations to Brent Savoie, MD, JD, Associate Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, for receiving a secondary appointment as Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics.
Dr. Savoie says this new collaboration with the department is an exciting step.
"I have really enjoyed my experiences with the Department of Biomedical Informatics over the past 6 years," says Dr. Savoie. "I'm eager to assist in inter-departmental collaboration going forward. I’ve found that some of the most interesting and rapid innovation occurs at the intersection of two fields."
New Master of Imaging Science Program Launches at VUIIS

A new, one-of-a-kind master’s program is coming to Vanderbilt University that highlights the field of imaging science and gives students insight into the wide array of medical imaging modalities.
The Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science has joined with the School of Medicine to create the Master of Imaging Science degree program.
Alexandra Foust Published in Neurographics

Congratulations to Alexandra Foust, DO, Assistant Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, for having her work “Developmental Anomalies of the Midface” published by the American Society of Neuroradiology in Neurographics.
The goal of the paper was to understand the key features of midface development and to use a location-based approach to generate a relevant differential diagnosis for congenital midface anomalies.
