Alice Hinton Returns to VUMC Radiology as Associate Professor

A familiar face will soon be returning to us here in the Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences. Alice Hinton, MD, will be coming out of retirement to serve as an Associate Professor starting in April 2023. Dr. Hinton has held several positions in the department and retired in 2021. She will rejoin us part-time, helping with staffing efforts in our Women’s Imaging section. Dr. Hinton's area of specialty practice is women’s imaging with a focus on breast imaging and obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound.

Vanderbilt mourns loss of former Nuclear Medicine director Brill

Aaron Bertrand (Randy) Brill, MD, PhD, former director of Nuclear Medicine and Biophysics at VUMC, died Feb. 13. He was 94. Dr. Brill first joined the Vanderbilt faculty in 1964 as an associate professor of Medicine with joint appointments in Radiology and Physics. In 1971, he was promoted to professor of Radiology where he served as co-director for the Radioisotope Center and director of Nuclear Medicine and Biophysics.

Kyle Maughan Selected for AUR Radiology Resident Academic Leadership Development Program

VUMC Radiology is happy to share that second year IR resident Kyle Maughan, MD, has been chosen for the AUR Radiology Resident Academic Leadership Development (ARRALD) Program. This program will take place during the annual AUR meeting in Austin. "I am excited for the opportunity to represent Vanderbilt and learn and grow as a leader," Dr. Maughan says.

Mary Ann Keenan Named AAPM Fellow

VUMC Radiology is honored to announce that Assistant Professor Mary Ann Keenan, DMP, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine. Dr. Keenan received this recognition for her contributions to medical physics and for the esteem held for her by her peers. This July, Dr. Keenan will be awarded this recognition at a ceremony in Houston, Texas.

Resident Ty Todd Will Continue as Fellow, then Faculty

The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is proud to share that VUMC third-year resident, Ty Todd, DO, will be staying with our team for a fellowship in Pediatric Neuroradiology. After completion, he will then join our faculty as an Assistant Professor.
