Kim Sandler Named Vice Chair of Faculty Development
The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is happy to announce that Kim Sandler, MD, has been named Vice Chair of Faculty Development. Dr. Sandler, a specialist in Cardiothoracic Imaging who was promoted to Professor in July of this year, is also the Director of the Vanderbilt Lung Screening Program.

Steven Harris Named Director of Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is proud to share that Steven Harris, MD, PhD, will assume leadership of our Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program, effective this September. Dr. Harris transitions into the Program Director role after two years as the Associate Program Director, operating under the guidance of Erin Cooke, MD.

Harlan Stock Joins as Section Chief of Musculoskeletal Radiology
The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is proud to welcome Harlan Stock, MD, MBA, who has joined our team as the new Section Chief of Musculoskeletal Radiology. Dr. Stock previously served as Section Chief of Musculoskeletal Imaging at SUNY Upstate Medical University in New York and brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Ashish Patel Named Section Chief of Emergency Radiology
The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is proud to share that Ashish Patel, MD, MBA, MS, RMSK, has stepped into the role of Section Chief for the Emergency Radiology section, effective immediately. Dr. Patel joined the VUMC Radiology team as an Assistant Professor in 2018.“I’m excited about the continued growth and collaboration within our section,” Dr. Patel says. “Even more, I’m excited to work alongside the dedicated men and women in our section. Together, we can make great strides toward achieving our 2024 VUMC Pillar goals and initiatives.”
