About Massage Therapy
Massage therapy, an ancient practice of muscle and joint manipulation, has been known to enhance the body’s natural healing abilities to relieve stress and pain and may encourage a deeper awareness of one’s own body. Our licensed massage therapists are certified in many techniques that they incorporate for your specific goals of the massage treatment.

Neuromuscular therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. The massage therapy pressure is usually applied with the fingers, knuckles or elbow.

A deep tissue massage uses the relaxing strokes of Swedish techniques and gradually sinks deeper into the body’s tissues, focusing on the relief of tension and pain from specific muscles or muscle groups. Clients with specific or chronic pain symptoms may benefit from this technique.
-
A form of massage that focuses on restrictions within fascia that contribute to imbalances in the muscular tissue and function of the postural body. This technique utilizes gentle yet deep pressure and stretching.

Not technically “massage,” manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a gentle bodywork technique that promotes the absorption of inter-cellular fluid. Using light strokes and focusing on the skin rather than the muscles. MLD is a major component of complete decongestive therapy (CDT), the treatment for lymphedema. Further details on how manual lymphatic drainage may benefit you can be discussed with your therapist.
