Mindfulness Professional Development

Mindfulness is paying attention in the present moment on purpose and with the quality of acceptance and kindness. Mindfulness can refer to a consistent quality or state of mind, a formal meditation practice, or an informal way of bringing attention and presence to activities and experiences in each moment. Mindfulness training programs at the Osher Center empower practitioners to integrate mindfulness-based practices into their professional repertoire, fostering deeper patient connections and improved well-being outcomes.

Benefits of Mindfulness:

  • Improved relationship with self and others
  • Cultivate greater emotional awareness and resilience
  • Improved sleep quality
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Reduced chronic pain
  • Improved mood and emotional regulation

About our training programs:

  • We train in the cultivation of our own embodied presence in the context of our work with clients and patients in the healing professions.
  • We explore theoretical frameworks, mindfulness practices, somatic experiences and engagement with other participants as we deepen into how to reliably cultivate this capacity.
  • Our work is attentive to inclusivity, ethics, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Courses are designed for those working in the fields of mental health and medicine but may be of equal use to those working in adjacent fields. All interested parties are welcome.
