Education

The Osher Center for Integrative Health at Vanderbilt University Medical Center offers educational opportunities across several areas, including graduate and postdoctoral psychology training, health coaching programs, and professional development in mindfulness and clinical hypnosis. The center also provides training rotations for students interested in integrative health practices. These programs aim to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in holistic health, focusing on mind-body wellness and integrative approaches to healthcare.

Our Core Values:

  • Evidence-Based Practice: Integrating the latest research and best practices into our curriculum.
  • Relationship-Centered Care: Emphasizing the importance of building strong therapeutic relationships with patients.
  • Social and Behavioral Determinants of Health: Recognizing the impact of social, behavioral, and economic factors on health outcomes.
  • Self-Care: Promoting the well-being of our students and faculty through mindfulness and self-care practices.

Respect for Diversity
Respect for diversity and for values different from one’s own is a central value of our professions, and a key value of the Osher Center. We seek to support trainees in their own self-work towards being culturally responsive providers, and encourage feedback about our performance in this area as individual supervisors, a psychology team, and broader Center. Additionally, we strive to be inclusive of all trainees and to provide support and accommodations necessary to help trainees feel welcome and valued and to be able to engage fully in all aspects of our Center.
