Bio:
Dr. Kerry Kinney is a clinician scientist whose research aims to improve our understanding of the etiology, classification, and treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and related conditions in diverse populations. She uses a multi-modal approach, including big data and natural language processing, to explore the mechanisms underlying disparities in the identification and treatment of anxiety and related disorders.

Personal Statement & Approach:
As both a researcher and practicing clinical psychologist, I am passionate about improving mental health outcomes, particularly for minoritized populations. My dual role allows me to bridge science and practice, using insights from both to inform my work on anxiety and related disorders. I am drawn to integrative team-based approaches because they bring diverse expertise to complex challenges, enabling a more comprehensive understanding of how mental and physical health interact. My research leverages big data and natural language processing to improve diagnostic systems and dismantle barriers to care, with the goal of making mental health treatment more accessible and effective.
